Double-row cylindrical bearings are designed for additional strength in carrying radial loads. These bearing types are interchangeable, so the dimensions and diameter under the rollers (NNU style) and diameter over the rollers (NN style) are held to an ISO/DIN standard. Interchangeability is designed for the ring without the rollers to allow interchange with competitor inner rings.

Series of double-row cylindrical roller bearings
The standard assortment presented in this section includes:
- NNU design bearings
- NN design bearings
- NN…K design bearings
Features of double row cylindrical roller bearings
- Double row cylindrical roller bearings, three fixed ribs on the outer ring, and one smooth inner circle. This design allows an axial displacement within certain limits of the shaft about the housing. Therefore, NU Series rolling bearings are used in non-locating bearing units. Also, the NNU Series bearings have no virtually thrust capacity.
- Bearings of NN design are double row cylindrical roller bearings with three fixed ribs on the inner ring that retain the rollers and cage and one smooth outer ring. This design allows an axial displacement within certain limits of the shaft about the housing. Therefore, N Series rolling bearings are used in non-locating bearing units. Also, the NN Series bearings have no virtually thrust capacity.
Application of double row cylindrical roller bearings
