Cylindrical Roller Bearing

Single Row Cylindrical Roller Bearing

Single row cylindrical roller bearings are a kind of cylindrical roller bearings manufactured with snap ring grooves on the outer rings. This design simplifies the bearing joint as the bearings are located in the housing using the snap rings. These single-row cylindrical roller bearings feature separable bearing rings, rollers, and cage assembly units. The design helps simplify mounting and dismounting, particularly when load conditions require both rings to have an interference fit.

As one of the cylindrical roller bearing manufacturers, suppliers, and exporters of mechanical products, We offer cylindrical roller bearing and many other products. Please get in touch with us for details.

Series of single-row cylindrical roller bearings

Popular types of Single row cylindrical roller bearings:

  • N
  • NJ
  • NU
  • NUP

Bearings of N design are single row cylindrical roller bearings with two fixed ribs on the inner ring that retain the rollers and cage and one smooth outer ring. This design allows an axial displacement within certain limits of the shaft about the housing. Therefore, N Series rolling bearings are used in non-locating bearing units. Also, the N Series bearings have virtually no thrust capacity. They are single-row cylindrical roller bearings with two fixed ribs on the outer ring and a fixed rib on the inner circle, which can guide the shaft in a single direction (axially).

Features of single row cylindrical roller bearings

  • Low friction (Roller end/flange contact area)
The open flange design, roller end design, and surface finish promote lubricant film formation, resulting in lower friction and higher axial load carrying capacity.
  • Long service life
The logarithmic roller profile reduces edge stresses at the roller/raceway contact and sensitivity to misalignment and shaft deflection.
  • Enhanced operational reliability
The surface finish on the contact surfaces of the rollers and raceways supports the formation of a hydrodynamic lubricant film.
  • Separable and interchangeable
The separable components of cylindrical roller bearings are interchangeable. This facilitates mounting and dismounting, as well as maintenance inspections.
  • High-speed capability
The cage designs suit high speeds, rapid accelerations, and peak loads.

Applications of single row cylindrical roller bearings:

Single row cylindrical roller bearings are designed to support heavy radial loads and are some of the most common bearings used worldwide. These roller bearings consist of an Outer Race, Bronze or Steel Cage, a complement of rollers, and usually an Inner Race. The use of Single row cylindrical roller bearings has benefited many industries:

  • pumps and compressors
  • mechanical presses
  • electric motors
  • gearboxes
  • traction motors and axle bearings for railway vehicles
  • steelworks and in many other industrial applications.
